London - 8 July, 2025: Pret A Manger is launching “Super Plates” – a new premium freshly made salads range featuring unique, internationally inspired ingredients, aimed at meeting the growing demand for larger, nutrient-rich lunch options.

This launch reflects a shift in customer habits, with Pret’s salad sales increasing at three times the rate of its growing sandwich category year-on-year. The new Super Plates represent a new category for Pret’s menu, marking the biggest evolution to Pret’s salad offering and further enhancing its lunchtime offer.

Weighing in at around 450 grams and above, the new Super Plates are nearly 60% larger on average than Pret’s current salads and have been designed to be more filling and nutrient dense for customers seeking a larger nutritious lunch to fuel their afternoon.

Created by Pret’s in-house Head of Food and Registered Nutritionist to deliver a highly nutritious dish that doesn’t compromise on flavour, each Plate is made of 2-3 of your 5 a day and between 36 and 49 grams of protein for the Chicken and Salmon options, and up to 18 grams of fibre for the vegan Butternut Mezze Plate.

Not only are the products larger in size with more protein and fibre macronutrients, the new Super Plates also feature nine new unique ingredients including hand-massaged kale, an unami-rich spiced Japanese Style Togarashi seed topping, smoky chargrilled chickpeas and Mexican inspired black bean mole. The recipe for each Super Plate has been several months in the making, with a focus on using high-quality, premium ingredients while ensuring every bite is bursting with flavour.

From 9th July, the new Super Plates will be available at over 250 Pret shops in major cities including London, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester. Takeaway prices begin at £9.95 and vary by shop location and product.

Briony Raven, Chief Customer & Product Officer at Pret A Manger said: “With a rise in popularity amongst Brits for larger, more nutrient dense salads we carefully crafted our brand-new ‘Super Plates’ category.
